Team News: Shola Ameobi starts for Bolton Wanderers

Shola Ameobi is handed his first Bolton Wanderers start for this evening's Lancashire derby with Preston North End.

Shola Ameobi has been handed his first Bolton Wanderers start for this evening's Lancashire derby with Preston North End.

Neil Lennon has brought the striker into attack in place of the injured Gary Madine after he scored his first goal for the Trotters last weekend against Leeds United.

That is one of five changes for Lennon's side as Jay Spearing returns in midfield to replace the absent Mark Davies, while Dorian Dervite, Derik Osede and Max Clayton all start.

For the hosts, Simon Grayson has brought Joe Garner back in attack for Jordan Hugill in the only change to the starting XI.

Preston North End: Pickford; Woods, Wright, Cunningham, Vermijl; Browne, Johnson, Gallagher, Reach; Garner, Doyle
Subs: Kirkland, Huntington, Kilkenny, Keane, Welsh, May, Hugill

Bolton Wanderers: Amos; Osede, Wheater, Dervite, Casado, Vela; Spearing, Pratley, Feeney, Clayton; Ameobi
Subs: Rachubka, Madine, Danns, Heskey, Pisano, Twardzik, Woolery
