Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Montpellier vs. PSG

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Montpellier vs. PSG.

Brest vs. Lille (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Two sides hunting automatic qualification to next season's Champions League league stage come together this weekend as Lille travel to face Brest at the Stade Francis-Le Ble.

The hosts sit second in the Ligue 1 table coming into this game, while the visitors are fourth and just three points outside of the top three.

We say: Brest 1-1 Lille

While Brest's defensive record has been excellent this season, it will be hard to stop the in-form David from getting on the scoresheet.

Lille have struggled for wins away from home this season with most games ending in draws, so we expect this one to follow this trend and end in a stalemate.

Monaco vs. Lorient (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Two sides at opposing ends of the Ligue 1 table clash on Sunday when top-three-chasing Monaco host relegation-battling Lorient at the Stade Louis II.

The hosts are third heading into this game and three points above fourth-placed Lille, while the visitors are 15th in the table and only above the relegation places on goal difference.

We say: Monaco 2-2 Lorient

Both sides will be desperate to get a result in this game as they find themselves in their own respective fights at opposing ends of the table.

Four of the last six matches between these teams have ended as draws, with each side taking one win apiece in the remaining two. We expect this game to follow the trend of recent tight affairs and equal results and end all square after 90 minutes.

Clermont vs. Le Havre (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Ligue 1 bottom club Clermont host Le Havre in this weekend's gameweek 26 match at Stade Gabriel Montpied on Sunday, keen to claim their first win since mid-January.

Pascal Gastien's men are eight points from safety, while their visitors returned to winning ways against Toulouse last weekend after an extended period without maximum points.

We say: Clermont 1-1 Le Havre

Neither side has shown enough to suggest they can be relied on to pick maximum points this weekend, pointing to a draw as a likely outcome at the Montpied.

Reims vs. Metz (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Eight places separate Reims and Metz in the Ligue 1 table heading into Sunday's gameweek 26 fixture at Stade Auguste Delaune.

The home side are outsiders for European qualification, while the second-bottom club could escape the automatic relegation places with a win.

We say: Reims 1-1 Metz

Even though Sunday's game is anticipated to be tight, Metz should back themselves for another positive result at Reims, with both sides possibly playing out a score draw.

Rennes vs. Marseille (Sunday, 4.05pm)

Both aiming to narrow the gap to the top five in the Ligue 1 table and strengthen their bid for European qualification, Rennes and Marseille will square off in an important contest at Roazhon Park on Sunday.

The visitors currently sit seventh in France's top flight, three points ahead of their hosts and three points off fifth and fourth spots.

We say: Rennes 1-2 Marseille

Both sides will be desperate for three points in a pivotal contest in the top-five race, and despite facing a tough trip, Marseille are in fine fettle under new management and playing to their full potential, and we fancy them to make it four Ligue 1 wins on the bounce as a result.

Montpellier vs. PSG (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Aiming to put an end to a three-game winless streak in Ligue 1, champions-elect Paris Saint-Germain travel to the Stade de la Mosson on Sunday, where Montpellier HSC will be their hosts.

The visitors have shared the spoils in their last three games in the top flight, while Michel Der Zakarian's men put another dent in Nice's European aspirations last weekend.

We say: Montpellier HSC 1-3 Paris Saint-Germain

Montpellier are always capable of troubling opposition backlines in Savanier territory, but with three new concerns for Der Zakarian to factor in for Sunday's visit of the champions, there should be little for La Paillade to celebrate.

Even though Montpellier love a draw at home, and PSG have been guilty of not converting one point into three in recent weeks, the visitors seldom slip up against their hosts and ought to return to winning ways in Ligue 1 in emphatic fashion.
