Ally McCoist: Rangers made "silly mistakes"

Ally McCoist criticises the defending from his Rangers side after drawing 3-3 with Stenhousemuir.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist believes that his side were guilty of making "silly mistakes" after they could only draw 3-3 with Stenhousemuir at Ibrox on Saturday.

Sean Higgins's penalty was enough give Stenny a point, but McCoist hinted that the spot kick shouldn't have been awarded, while criticising poor Gers defending earlier in the game.

He told Rangers.co.uk: "Losing three goals at home – albeit one of them being questionable – wasn't good at all and we made silly mistakes.

"We didn't defend the first one at all well. I think we should have cut the ball out at source before the cross came in.

"David Templeton and Lee Wallace should have cut that out but then Sebastien (Faure) missed the cross and the lad knocked it in.

Despite dropping two points, Rangers maintain a 21-point lead at the top of Scottish League One.
