Preview: Rangers vs. Alloa Athletic

Sports Mole previews the Scottish Championship match between Rangers and Alloa Athletic on Tuesday.

Rangers welcome Alloa Athletic to Ibrox looking to kickstart the Dave King era.

The club has not won a match since the South Africa-based businessman took over two weeks ago, and have gone on a run of four draws in a row.

That has seen them slip to 24 points behind Scottish Championship leaders Hearts, and they will require a playoff victory if they are to return to the top flight next season.

Saturday's draw to bottom club Livingston was Stuart McCall's first match in charge of Rangers, and the former Scotland defender will need to improve the team's fortunes to avoid unemployment in the summer.

McCall has a full squad of players to choose from, and has hinted at defensive changes after Saturday's match. Marius Zaliukas could start ahead of Sebastian Faure after replacing him in the 52nd minute at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Alloa Athletic are currently in the relegation playoff place, but are just one point behind eighth-placed Cowdenbeath. They have lost their last three matches but will fancy their chances of causing an upset.

Rangers:

Recent form: LWDDDD

Possible starting lineup: Robinson, Zaliukas, McGregor, McCulloch, Wallace, Walsh, Law, Hutton, Vuckic, Clark, Miller

Alloa:

Recent form: DLWLLL

Possible starting lineup: McDowall, Doyle, Gordon, Marr, Meggatt, Docherty, Cawley, Holmes, McCord, Layne, Buchanan

Sports Mole says: 2-0
