Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique is hoping that Kylian Mbappe will ultimately decide to snub the advances of Real Madrid and remain in France next season.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has stated that Kylian Mbappe "could still change his mind", with the forward expected to leave for Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old is enjoying another productive season in Ligue 1 for Les Parisiens, scoring 24 goals and providing five assists in 24 appearances.

Mbappe has helped his side to the top of the first-tier standings as the season approaches its business end, with Enrique's men 10 points ahead of second-placed Brest.

Since joining from Monaco in the summer of 2017 on an initial loan deal, the Frenchman has won five Ligue 1 titles, whilst also lifting Coupe de France on three occasions.

Despite a trophy-laden spell, one particular success has alluded the World Cup winner up to this stage, with PSG yet to collect their maiden Champions League crown.

Another twist in the saga?

Although it is widely expected that Mbappe will switch to Real Madrid in the summer, PSG boss Enrique is hoping for another twist in the attacker's transfer saga.

"I'm still hoping that Kylian will change his mind. He hasn't said anything yet. He can still change his mind," explained Enrique to Prime Video.

"Let's imagine that we win four titles this season and Kylian makes his choice at the last moment and decides that his place is in Paris. Why not?"

It has been reported that has Mbappe informed PSG of his decision to leave the club at the conclusion of the season following a seven-year stint in the French capital.

With the attacker's contract at Parc des Princes expiring in the summer, it is understood that Carlo Ancelotti will bring the 25-year-old into the Madrid squad ahead of the 2024-25 term.

Mbappe will supposedly become Los Blancos' highest-paid player, surpassing the yearly salaries of Vinicius Jr and England international Jude Bellingham.

The Frenchman recently revealed that his next destination would be confirmed before Euro 2024, which kicks off on June 14 as hosts Germany welcome Scotland to the Allianz Arena.

Looking to secure his sixth Ligue 1 title during what looks set to be his final season as a PSG player, Mbappe is set to start his side's match at Marseille on Sunday night.
