Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has admitted that it was "a shame" to miss out on the Spain squad for the World Cup this summer.
The right-back was named in the initial 30-man list, but was cut by Vicente del Bosque earlier this afternoon.
Carvajal has responded graciously to the axe, however, and wished his nation the "best of luck" for the tournament in Brazil.
"It's a shame I didn't get into the final list, but I'm so proud to have been close. Best of luck to Spain," he tweeted.
Carvajal helped Los Blancos claim a Copa del Rey and Champions League double last season.
