Diego Costa in 23-man Spain squad

Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa is named in Spain's final 23-man squad for the World Cup.

Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa has been named in the final 23-man Spain squad for the World Cup.

It had been suggested that the Brazilian-born striker would miss out on a place in Vicente del Bosque's travelling party due to a troublesome hamstring injury.

However, the 25-year-old has been included, while there is also a place in attack for Chelsea's Fernando Torres.

Manchester United duo Juan Mata and David de Gea are also in the squad, but Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal and Sevilla's Alberto Moreno miss out.

From the original 30-man squad, Ander Iturraspe, Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo and Fernando Llorente have also been cut.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Pepe Reina (Liverpool), David De Gea (Manchester United)
