Real Sociedad midfielder Esteban Granero has been ruled out of action for up to six months after scans confirmed that he had suffered anterior ligament damage.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury in Tuesday's Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk, where the Spanish outfit were beaten 2-0 on their return to the competition.
It was revealed earlier this afternoon that the on-loan Queens Park Rangers playmaker would undergo scans to determine the extent of the damage.
The early indications are that Granero will be out of action for six months with the knee injury.
