Real Betis have consigned Real Zaragoza to their 15th league defeat of the season by easing to a two-goal victory at the Estadio de la Romareda.
Ruben Castro struck both goals for the visitors either side of half time to give the Verdiblancos their fourth away win of the campaign.
Bottom-of-the-table Zaragoza began well and Fabricio in the Betis goal did well to prevent Ruben Micael's long-range effort finding the top corner.
Betis almost took the lead against the run of play in the 14th minute but Jorge Molina saw his shot from inside the area saved low by Fabricio.
The visitors began to come into the contest and went ahead four minutes before the break. Molina broke away with the ball and found Ruben Castro with a through ball, which the forward duly finished.
Castro could have made it two before the interval but his header could only find the palms of Roberto Jimenez.
Castro continued to threaten in the second 45, and he doubled both his and Betis's tally with 20 minutes remaining by firing home from inside the area.
Substitute Jonathan Pereira almost made it three just four minutes after coming on, but his late effort bounced back off the upright.
The win sees Betis rise four places to 12th while Zaragoza are 11 points from safety.
