Towards the end of the first half, Roberto Soriano tried his luck from distance, however, Curci was equal to his effort.
After the break, Lazaros Christodoulopoulos headed over the bar for the visitors, before Soriano saw his close-range effort kept out by Curci.
Midway through the second half, Sampdoria took the lead when Eder got to the byline and pulled the ball back for Gabbiadini to slot past the keeper.
In the final minute of the match, the visitors denied Sampdoria from claiming the three points.
Christodolopoulos was brought down inside the box by Andrea Costa and Diamanti stepped up to fire the resulting penalty into the bottom corner, earning his side a vital point in their battle against relegation.
