Napoli emerge as contenders for Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen, according to a report.

Napoli have reportedly joined the hunt for Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen.

The Belgium international will see his current deal with Spurs expire at the end of June.

Inter Milan continue to be strongly linked with the versatile defender, who is seemingly unlikely to pen an extension with Jose Mourinho's side.

However, according to Cronache di Napoli, Napoli are also exploring the possibility of signing the 32-year-old on a free transfer ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Belgian has made 26 appearances for his London club during the current season, including 19 in the Premier League.

Gennaro Gattuso's side could be in the market for a new centre-back this summer due to the uncertainty surrounding Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been linked with Manchester United.
