Fabrizio Romano says that there is currently no movement from Bayern Munich on a potential deal for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has said that there are currently "no changes" surrounding the future of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane despite the recent speculation.

The 29-year-old has helped England reach the last-16 stage of the 2022 World Cup, providing three assists in his three appearances, but he is yet to find the back of the net in Qatar.

Kane was in strong form for Spurs ahead of the tournament, scoring 13 goals and registering three assists in 22 appearances in all competitions.

The centre-forward has now managed 261 goals and 62 assists in 408 matches for Tottenham, but there is currently speculation surrounding his future in the English capital.

Kane's current deal now only has 18 months left to run, and Spurs would be in a difficult position next summer if they were unable to convince him to sign a new long-term contract.

Bayern Munich are believed to have identified the striker as the ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who left Allianz Arena to move to Barcelona over the summer.

A recent report claimed that Bayern are continuing to work on a deal for Kane, with the German champions hopeful that they could sign him for a fee between £70m and £86.4m.

However, senior figures at the club are said to be 'sceptical' over their chances, with Tottenham expected to firmly resist any interest in their most important player.

Kane scored 27 goals and registered 10 assists in 50 appearances for Spurs during the 2021-22 campaign, having stayed at the club despite strong interest from Manchester City.

Romano has said that there is currently 'no change' to the situation regarding the forward's future, but the Italian said that Bayern appreciate the England captain.

"I've seen stories about Kane again, but there no changes at all as of now," Romano wrote in his column for Caught Offside.

"Tottenham want to keep Kane and there are no negotiations ongoing, but also nothing would happen during the World Cup of course... so it's completely quiet as of now. Bayern like Kane as Oliver Kahn stated, nothing else."

Bayern CEO Kahn recently said to Sky Deutschland: "Kane is very good player, but there are also many other very good players. I've read that [gossip] everywhere."

Real Madrid are also said to be keeping a close eye on Kane's situation in London.
