Swansea are reportedly refusing to budge on their £18m asking price for centre-back Joe Rodon, whom Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing before today's deadline.

Swansea City are reportedly refusing to budge on their £18m asking price for centre-back Joe Rodon amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs saw an offer for the 22-year-old rejected on international deadline day but still have until 5pm today to push through a deal for the defender.

Jose Mourinho is eager to end a productive summer transfer window by bolstering his centre-back ranks and has earmarked Rodon as his top target after missing out on Milan Skriniar.

However, the Daily Mail reports that Swansea are standing firm on their £18m valuation of the Wales international - significantly higher than Tottenham's initial £7m bid.

Manager Steve Cooper insisted yesterday that Rodon will not be sold on the cheap, with Leicester City also thought to be considering a late move for the Swansea academy graduate.

Spurs have reportedly presented a number of different ways to structure a deal, including a straight cash option, a player-plus-cash exchange and an agreement which would see Rodon loaned back to Swansea.

However, none of those have met the Championship side's asking price and they are prepared to keep hold of Rodon if a suitable offer does not arrive before the 5pm deadline.
