The entire Sunderland squad laid a signed shirt in support of Fabrice Muamba at the Reebok Stadium earlier today.
Bolton Wanderers midfielder Muamba is currently in a critical condition at London Chest Hospital, having suffered a cardiac arrest during his side's away match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night.
The Sunderland players visited the vigil site as they made their trip to the North West to face Blackburn Rovers tomorrow evening.
A friend of Muamba's has claimed that the 23-year-old has been speaking within the last few hours.
