The London Chest Hospital has confirmed that Fabrice Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest during Bolton Wanderers' match with Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
The England under-21 midfielder was rushed to hospital after collapsing on the pitch, leading to the game being called off at half-time.
Muamba is still in a critical condition, fighting for his life in the hospital and faces a "critical" next 24 hours, for which he will remain anaesthetised.
Footballers from around the world have been sending their best wishes to Muamba and his family.
