Franck Tabanou has revealed that he turned down more lucrative offers in favour of a move to Swansea City.
The French full-back completed his switch to the Welsh outfit from Saint-Etienne on Friday, signing a three-year contract.
Tabanou says that the lure of Premier League football was too good to turn down.
"It happened pretty fast. The club already wanted to take me in January and had even made an offer, but Saint-Etienne had no time to find a replacement. They continued to follow me over the last six months," he told L'Equipe.
"I'll play in the best championship in the world in a team that finished eighth last year. This is not just anything. This is not a financial choice, otherwise I would have gone elsewhere, to the countries in the East."
Tabanou made 37 appearances for Saint-Etienne last season in all competitions.
