Ariel Jacobs content with Valenciennes draw

Valenciennes coach Ariel Jacobs takes the positives from his side's 2-2 draw at Rennes in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Valenciennes coach Ariel Jacobs has revealed that he was pleased with his side's 2-2 draw with Rennes away from home on Saturday.

It was the 60-year-old's first game in charge of Les Atheniens since replacing Daniel Sanchez last week.

"It is true that there were a lot of positives to come out of the match," Ligue1.com quotes him as saying.

"We managed to get a point away from home after being 2-0 down. That is positive, but we mustn't systematically believe that we are now safe. It is one small step; there are still 28 finals to be played.

"We should be happy but not euphoric. We need to keep our feet on the ground because our situation has not really changed."

Valenciennes are currently at the foot of the league table with five points from 10 matches.
