Tony Pulis confirms Callum McManaman move

West Brom manager Tony Pulis reveals that he has indeed made a bid to sign Wigan winger Callum McManaman, along with "three or four" other players.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has confirmed an interest in signing Wigan Athletic winger Callum McManaman this month.

Speculation is rife that Pulis will make the 23-year-old his first signing as Baggies boss, with reports indicating that he has tabled a £6m bid after an earlier £4m offer was rejected.

However, the 57-year-old says that McManaman is not his only target, claiming that he has tabled bids for "three or four players".

"We've had bids for three or four players," he told reporters. "You put them in and see what the clubs want.

"It's not just [McManaman], there's three or four other people we've asked and enquired about. Then we'll take a view about value for money and what is right for us."

McManaman is contracted to the Latics until 2017.

On Tuesday, two of former boss Alan Irvine's summer signings, Silvestre Varela and Sebastian Blanco, left the club.

Varela's season-long loan from Porto was cancelled by mutual consent, while Blanco is poised to join Argentine side San Lorenzo.
