Free agent Samir Nasri is wanted by Russian Premier League side Zenit St Petersburg, according to a report.
The 30-year-old has been without a club since his contract with Antalyaspor was terminated at the end of January, just five months after joining.
Nasri has since been linked with Serie A strugglers Benevento, who also have former Arsenal teammate Bacary Sagna on their books, but Zenit now appear to be the frontrunners after supposedly opening discussions.
Sport-Express claims that Roberto Mancini, previously the former France international's manager at Manchester City, hopes to bring him to the Krestovsky Stadium in the coming days.
Nasri's agent is said to be negotiating terms and an agreement could be struck soon.
