It was confirmed earlier today that Darren Clarke had been selected as Europe's next Ryder Cup captain.

The Irishman, who beat off competition from Miguel Angel Jimenez and Thomas Bjorn for the role, will lead a 12-man European team as they look to retain the trophy in Hazeltine next year.
