Team Europe have won the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles this afternoon, taking the trophy for the 10th time.

Paul McGinley's men went into today's singles encounters leading their American counterparts 10-6 following yesterday evening's round of foursomes.
Wins for world number one Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Martin Kaymer, as well as a share of the spoils for Justin Rose from his encounter with Hunter Mahan, left the Europeans needing just one point to secure the Samuel Ryder trophy for another two years.
The responsibility of closing it out went to Welshman Jamie Donaldson, who initially spurned an opportunity to wrap up the victory on the 14th hole.
However, he went on to the 15th leading Keegan Bradley by four and when Donaldson dropped his approach shot within five inches of the hole, the American conceded, which sparked scenes of jubilant celebrations from the European players that had crowded around the green to support their teammate.
It is the tenth time that Europe has won the tournament since it first competed as a team in 1979, with eight of those triumphs having come in the last 10 meetings between the two sides.
