Tony McCoy hopes to be fit for Newbury

Tomy McCoy hopes to make his return from a two-week injury layoff at Wednesday's meetings at Fontwell and Wetherby.

Tony McCoy's assistant Gee Bradburne has revealed that the 19-time champion jockey has been cleared to resume racing next week.

The 40-year-old has been sidelined with a fractured rib since the start of the month, but the Northern Irishman is on schedule to feature at the Hennessy meeting in Newbury on November 29.

Bradburne is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "Everything was good and he hopes to be back next Wednesday."

If McCoy does return to the saddle next Wednesday, he will feature at meetings at Fontwell and Wetherby.
