Tony McCoy looks likely to miss out on riding 300 winners in a season after aggravating a rib injury earlier this week.
McCoy, a 19-time champion jockey, suffered a fall at Exeter on Tuesday which has ruled him out for two weeks, resulting in him missing the meeting at Cheltenham next week among others.
The 40-year-old is quoted by The Telegraph as saying: "I went to see my sports medicine specialist Julian Widdowson this morning as I am very sore having aggravated an old injury at Exeter on Tuesday.
"It has been decided that it needs some time and it will probably be two weeks before I go back to see him."
McCoy could target a return for the Hennessy Gold Cup on November 29.
