Nine jockeys, including Tony McCoy, failed to have their ten-day suspensions overturned by the British Horseracing Authority.

Nine jockeys have failed in their bid to have their ten-day suspensions for failing to observe a race-stop flag at Wetherby last week overturned.

Last Wednesday's race was declared void after Ashburton Lad pulled up injured.

However, champion jockey Tony McCoy as well as Brian Hughes, Graham Lee, Danny Cook, Denis O'Regan, Alex Voy, Jonathon Bewley, Paddy Brennan and Brian Toomey all failed to stop and were banned by the British Horseracing Authority.

The governing body has now decided that all of the jockeys found guilty will serve the full length of their suspensions.

The bans, which begin on Wednesday, October 26, will see the jockeys miss the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby and the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter.

The three remaining jockeys in the race - Dougie Costello, Tom Messenger and Campbell Gillies - were not involved in the incident.
