China have won the first gold medal of the Paralympic Games through Zhang Cuiping in the women's 10m air rifle SH1 final.
Zhang shot a round of 104.9 in the final, which racked up a total of 500.9, enough to clinch the top honour as well as set a new final world record.
Manuela Schmermund of Germany clinched the silver medal with an overall score of 493.6, while Natalie Smith of Australia snatched bronze with a score of 492.4.
Meanwhile, Great Britain's medal hope Di Coates failed to make it into the final after finishing ninth in the qualifiers.
