Alina Stadnik has urged her fellow Ukrainians to follow in her footsteps after winning gold in the 69kg freestyle wrestling final at the European Games.
Victory over Ilana Kratysh in the final clinched Ukraine's first gold in Baku, and Stadnik was unable to hold back her emotions when reflecting on the win.
"I am very happy and it is very emotional because now I've reached the result of all the hard work and training that I've put into this," she told reporters.
"I reached my maximum capacity and I am really glad to bring the first European Games gold to the Ukrainian medal collection. I hope that the other team members can come home with a gold now."
Stadnik lost to Kratysh when the two last met at the 2013 European Championships.
