Ex-Manchester United coach Carlos Queiroz signs new four-year deal with Iran

Former Manchester United coach Carlos Queiroz signs a new four-year contract with Iran.

Former Manchester United coach Carlos Queiroz has extended his stay as manager of Iran by signing a new four-year deal.

The 61-year-old, who has worked with the national side for the last three years, was recently linked with the managerial vacancy at Leeds United.

However, the Portuguese coach has opted to sign fresh terms with the Iranian Football Federation, who have included a pay rise in the new contract.

Queiroz's team impressed at the World Cup in Brazil earlier this summer, despite finishing at the bottom of Group F following matches against Nigeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Argentina.
