Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho hopes to have Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo back in action in time for the festive fixtures next month.

Jose Mourinho has revealed that a trio of injured Manchester United players are "in a good position" regarding their comeback from injuries.

The Red Devils boss has been without influential midfielder Paul Pogba since mid-September, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo have yet to kick a ball this term.

All three players are in line to make a return to action for the festive fixtures next month, however, joining Marouane Fellaini who made his own comeback following a short spell out against Chelsea at the weekend.

"We have the group of players which are the ones that we hope will recover as soon as possible," he told the club's official website. "They have to work every day but they are in a good position now. Pogba, Ibrahimovic, Rojo, Fellaini.

"They are in good positions so I think we can go into this part of the season, the Christmas period, and after, in a strong position.

"The [international players] all disappear and then we have a couple... like [Chris] Smalling and [Ander] Herrera and they really deserve, after so many matches, to have a week off which I'm going to give them."

United head into the international break on the back of a 1-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which leaves them eight points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.
