Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur charged by FA for failing to control players

The FA charges Aston Villa and Tottenham for failing to control their players in the incident which saw Christian Benteke sent off in Spurs' 2-1 Premier League win.

Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have been charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players during their Premier League match last weekend.

Referee Neil Swarbrick sent off Villa striker Christian Benteke following a large 66th-minute scuffle which involved several players from both sides.

Spurs eventually won the game as goals from Nacer Chadli and Harry Kane in the final 10 minutes earned them a 2-1 victory over their 10-man hosts.

Both clubs have until 6pm on November 10, 2014 to respond to the charge.
