Arizona Cardinals left guard Mike Iupati is likely to miss the first two months of the new campaign, according to reports.
The 28-year-old left practice yesterday with a swollen knee and did not return, while coach Bruce Arians confirmed that he went to see a doctor today.
ESPN claims that he will be injured for the best part of two months, which could see him miss the first six games of the season.
Iupati signed a five-year deal with the Cardinals in March, worth a reported £38m.
