Steve Bisciotti has admitted that the 2014 season was his "worst year" as the owner of the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens were embroiled in the Ray Rice assault scandal at the start of the season when the integrity of the franchise was called into question in relation to how much knowledge they had of the incident.
After giving Rice their initial backing the club were forced to backtrack as they released Rice when new evidence emerged of the severity of his attack on his wife - then-fiancee - Janay Palmer.
Bisciotti told reporters: "It was my worst year as an owner. I had 14 good years and then an absolutely crappy year."
Despite their off-the-field turmoil, the Ravens reached the divisional round of the playoffs before they were defeated by the eventual Super Bowl champions the New England Patriots.
