Bernard Pierce targets training camp return

Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce is confident that he will be fit for July's training camp.

Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce has insisted that he will recover from injury in time to take part in the club's training camp in July.

Pierce underwent an operation in January on a shoulder injury, which was just one of four setbacks he suffered in 2013, but the player is positive ahead of the 2014 season.

"Definitely by training camp [I'll be ready]," the Baltimore Sun quotes Pierce as saying.

"I think I'm right on schedule, honestly. I'm getting better, man. I'm doing rehab every day. I'm just grinding it out."

Pierce averaged just 2.9 yards per carry last season compared to 4.9 in his rookie season.
