Brynden Trawick has said that he lost sight of Jacoby Jones before colliding with his teammate during the Baltimore Ravens' defeat on Thursday night.
The wide receiver had to leave the game in the first quarter with a sprained knee after being hit by Trawick during a punt return in the 49-27 loss to the Denver Broncos.
The rookie safety told the team's website: "Just lost sight of the returner, pretty much. I was just trying to block my man and lost sight of where Jacoby was. It's unfortunate that I ran into him. I've just got to have more awareness there.
"You've got to look at the returner and look at the ball and look at your man and decide if it's good to block him or not. [You have to decide] where to do your job or just let him go. It just happened. It's a long season, so I've just got to play the next play and keep playing."
The Ravens have not indicated how serious Jones's knee injury is.
