Jacquies Smith: 'It's a dream come true'

Buffalo Bills defensive end Jacquies Smith is delighted to have finally made a 53-man roster for the NFL season after two previous unsuccessful attempts.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Jacquies Smith has revealed that it was a dream come true for him to make his side's 53-man roster.

The 24-year-old went undrafted in 2012 out of the Missouri Tigers, but was claimed and then cut by the Miami Dolphins before the start of the season. Smith also endured a similar experience last year with the New York Jets.

However, this time around Smith has made the roster for the start of the campaign, and he revealed that it took a lot of hard work to put himself in the position.

Smith told the club's official website: "It's basically a dream realised. I've stayed down with practice team, going through the league, battling my way through different teams, basically starting from the bottom and battling my way up.

"To even get these opportunities to be able to even make the 53-man roster, it's a great feeling."

The Bills open their 2014 season against the Chicago Bears next Sunday.
