Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine has insisted that he is not concerned over the form of cornerback Justin Gilbert ahead of the 2015 season.
The Browns selected the 23-year-old in the first round of the 2014 Draft, but he struggled immensely in his rookie season and was called out by his teammates for being immature.
Gilbert was pressed into action against the starters of the Washington Redskins in his side's pre-season clash, but he found life difficult as he gave up several plays in the contest.
"I wouldn't say I'm concerned at this point," Pettine told reporters. "This is why we have training camp.
"He's got things that he's got to work on and he'll get his grade sheet tomorrow and hopefully the mistakes that he made, be able to lock them in and not make them again.
"But he's a guy that we want to have him be a part of what we're doing and we're coaching him hard. Hopefully he'll respond."
Gilbert recorded 29 tackles and one interception in the 2014 season.
