Dallas Cowboys defensive back Byron Jones has said that he is on the "right path" towards being a successful contributor to his side in his rookie season in the NFL.
The Cowboys selected the 22-year-old in the first round of the 2015 Draft, and Jones has already impressed the club's owner Jerry Jones, along with his coaches, with his displays on the practice field.
However, Jones is adamant that he still has plenty more to do ahead of the new campaign to ingrain himself as a valued part of the defense.
He told NFL Network: "It shows that I'm on the right path, but at the end of the day there is a lot of work to be done before I can contribute to this team, so I'm looking forward to the challenge."
The Cowboys face the New York Giants in their 2015 season opener.
