Derek Wolfe has said that he has "never felt this good" following a period of rest after suffering a seizure.
The Denver Broncos defensive end suffered a spinal cord injury in pre-season in 2013 before losing 20lbs as a result of food poisoning, resulting in the seizure, which ended his season early.
The 24-year-old told the Denver Post: "Honest to God, I feel better than I've ever felt. In my whole life I've never felt this good. It just shows I needed that rest. The body needed to heal.
"I have no pain in my neck. I'm sleeping better than I've ever slept. I'm not on any kind of medicine. No supplements. Nothing. No doubt in my mind that I'm going to be better than I ever was."
Wolfe made 16 tackles and four sacks during his 11 games with the Broncos last year.
