Detroit Lions long snapper Don Muhlbach has penned a one-year contract extension for his 11th season with the club in 2014.
Muhlbach, selected for the Pro Bowl roster in 2012, will earn a reported £600,000 from his new deal, which special teams coordinator John Bonamego is delighted with.
"I'm thrilled to have 'Mule' back," Bonamego told the club's official website. "He's a great pro and very, very good at what he does. He has been a good calming influence for [rookie punter] Sam Martin this year.
"With Sam going into his second year it was also important to us to have that veteran leadership within that core group of specialists. Because whoever our kicker ends up being is more than likely going to be a younger guy who's less experienced."
Muhlbach has played 148 NFL games throughout his career.
