The Kansas City Chiefs have released cornerback Dunta Robinson, after the veteran player started just two games last season.
Robinson, who signed a three-year, $13.7m (£8.3m) contract with the Chiefs last year, has now been told that is surplus to requirements at the Arrowhead Stadium.
The 32-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent and can sign for any club without having to wait to be registered for free agency in March.
It is thought that the move to release Robinson will bring in a saving of around $3m (£1.8m) on the Chiefs' salary cap for this year.
