The Kansas City Chiefs have said that Ricky Stanzi may be needed this weekend after Brady Quinn sustained an injury.
The Chiefs quarterback injured his ribs in their loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
Head coach Romeo Crennel told the Kansas City Star: "We'll see what Brady looks like, and then we'll make some decisions and go from there."
Stanzi has yet to play for the Chiefs this season, having been the third-string quarterback behind Quinn and Matt Cassel.
Quinn took over the starting role mid-way through the 2012 season following a poor run of form from Cassel, who also sustained a head injury.
The Chiefs face the Indianapolis Colts this weekend.
