New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has suffered a suspected broken foot during his side's victory over the New York Giants.
The Patriots edged past the Giants 27-26 on Sunday night to continue their unbeaten start to the season, but Edelman had to be replaced after picking up an injury during the final play of the first quarter.
Reports claim that the 29-year-old Edelman has broken the fifth metatarsal in his foot, but it is thought that he may yet be able to return to action before the season is over.
Edelman has racked up 639 yards and seven touchdowns during the Patriots' perfect start to the campaign, and has recorded more than 2,000 yards over the past two seasons.
The Patriots' victory over the Giants moved them to 9-0 to start the season to leave them clear at the top of AFC East.
