Linebacker Jerod Mayo will stay with the New England Patriots this season, according to reports.
The 29-year-old featured in just six games last year due to a knee injury, while he also missed most of the 2013 season.
His future was thrown into doubt after reports suggested that he would be cut by the Super Bowl champions, due to an injury guarantee of £2.9m in his contract.
However, NFL Media reports that he has agreed a new one-year deal worth £2.9m, which could rise to £3.9m if he reaches all the incentives.
Mayo has been with the Patriots since 2008, and has played in 87 games.
