Jonathan Vilma leaving New Orleans Saints satisfied

Inside linebacker Jonathan Vilma says that he 'couldn't have written things better' upon his exit from the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday.

Jonathan Vilma has taken to social media to express his feelings following his release by the New Orleans Saints.

Inside linebacker Vilma was just one of four players cut by the Saints on Wednesday following six years with the franchise. He won the Super Bowl with the team in 2009.

Via his personal Twitter account, Vilma said: "Couple pro bowls and a superbowl ring later, I couldn't have written that chapter any better. #WhoDat."

Safety Roman Harper - who was also cut - wrote on his page: "To the city of New Orleans and it's fans... THANK YOU for the 8 years of #GreatMemories."

Knee surgery a year ago hindered Vilma's attempts to get into the team last season, with the 32-year-old featuring in just one game all year.
