New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese has revealed that off-season surgery has been planned for 2012 first-round draft pick David Wilson.
Reese said that although the running back would likely be fit for the 2014 season, the player's future would not be clear as he has spent so much time injured.
"You have to look at him differently, because he's got the whole neck issue hovering over him right now," Reese told WFAN radio station. "So he's got to come back and be healthy, number one.
"He's planning to have surgery, and we'll see how that comes out. Our medical staff feels like he'll be ready to play this fall, but the neck and back - that's pretty tricky. So you never know."
Wilson managed 146 yards from 44 attempts in the 2013 campaign.
