New York Jets general manager John Idzik has revealed that he has and will continue to follow the Seattle Seahawks' blueprint of building his side through the Draft.
Idzik worked at the Seahawks for nine years and under general manager John Schneider for three seasons, as he watched Schneider mould the side that would win Super Bowl XLVIII by comfortably beating the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium.
"I think that's what differentiates John and the Seahawks," Idzik told the New York Post. "It wasn't just going after talent.
"It wasn't just going after guys that really stood out where they were. It was identifying who was a Seahawk. It sounds a little familiar, right?"
The Jets missed the playoffs in Idzik's first season as general manager.
