Jason Peters is confident of returning to his best from the Achilles tendon injury suffered last season.

Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters has admitted that if he does not return from injury to top form then he will retire after the 2013 season.

Peters was near the top of the offensive lineman rankings before suffering an Achilles tendon injury, which required surgery.

However, the player is confident that he has fully recovered and will be able to perform to the high standard he set for himself.

"The injury didn't set me back at all," Peters told the Delaware County Daily Times.

"I'm out there, and I am going to play just like I have been playing. If not, I'll just hang the helmet up."

Peters has been with the Eagles since 2009.
