San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh has praised Colin Kaepernick following his team's defeat of the Washington Redskins on Monday night.
The quarterback has come under some scrutiny in recent weeks for a number of sub-par performances, but his display in the 27-6 win showed signs of the form he was in last season, when he led the 49ers to the Super Bowl.
Kaepernick completed 15 of his 24 pass attempts, throwing for 235 yards and three scores. He also rushed nine times, picking up 20 yards.
Harbaugh told reporters: "He's got the ability to be focused and loose. What I saw was a perfect blend, exactly what was needed to be for his team.
"He had the matchup he wanted with Anquan [Boldin]. It was a great job of reading the coverage and throwing to the one-on-one for that first touchdown."
The 49ers had lost their two previous games, so the win was vital as they bid to make the playoffs.
