Jeff Fisher: 'Sam Bradford will be ready for season opener'

St Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher says that quarterback Sam Bradford will "no doubt" be ready to start for the team in September's opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

St Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has revealed that quarterback Sam Bradford will be fit to start the team's first game of the season.

Bradford had to undergo surgery on his knee after suffering an ACL injury towards the end of last season.

The quarterback predicted that he would lead his team out when questioned on the topic in January, with his coach now confirming his hopes.

"There is no doubt whatsoever," Fisher told NFL AM radio. "Everybody does projections. We projected Sam's numbers out had he stayed healthy last year.

"They would have been quite impressive, and who knows what would have happened down the stretch."

Bradford has an underwhelming 18-30-1 overall record in four seasons with the Rams, but the franchise have backed him by refusing to choose other quarterback options during the last two NFL Drafts.

The Rams begin their season at home to the Minnesota Vikings.
