Evan Dietrich-Smith: 'Tampa Bay Buccaneers lacked direction'

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith feels that his team did not have a clear idea of their identity in the 2014 season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith believes that their poor season was due top a lack of direction.

The Buccaneers recorded a 2-14 campaign which gave them the worst record in the NFL, and Dietrich-Smith feels that the team did not have enough support from the coaching staff in regards to sufficient gameplanning.

"We were really trying to find ourselves all year, and I don't think we ever really got a foothold on that. It's tough," Dietrich-Smith told SiriusXM NFL radio.

"It's like somebody gave you a box, and the box was full of things, with a picture on the side like a kid's toy set.

"And then you open the box and there's no directions and they tell you to put it together. That's kind of how it was. We were sitting back and staring and we never really got it quite right."

The Buccaneers will have the first pick in the 2015 NFL Draft in April.
