Jameis Winston hopes to gain Tampa Bay Buccaneers trust

Jameis Winston hopes to gain the trust of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being selected with the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Quarterback Jameis Winston has said that he hopes to get to work immediately at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after they selected him with the first overall Draft pick on Thursday night.

Winston was accused of sexual assault in his freshman season but was never charged, with the Bucs investigating his off-field incidents and deciding that they will not have any more trouble.

"I've got to work," Winston told the media.

"Actions speak so much louder than words, or what they may have read or what they may have heard. It's about your actions. Whatever is in the past is in the past. I look forward to gaining everyone's trust."

Tampa Bay also looked closely at Marcus Mariota but opted to select Winston, with the Tennessee Titans selecting Mariota instead with the second overall pick.
